  1. Your second and third qualifiers are kind of similar. You should try to think of a different one?

  2. My brothers were positive male figures in my life. I would reconsider your simple definition and refine it a little more. This may also help you with choosing more qualifiers to strengthen your argument.

  3. I'm not really sure if this is necessary but I think you should find a more specific word to describe a father rather than using "positive", or maybe try to define what positive really means in this situation. You should seek more qualifiers to strengthen your definition also because I don't think three qualifiers are good enough.

  4. Maybe instead of saying male figure you could say role model instead.

  5. I would try to find a specific word to describe a father instead of positive. Maybe you could say that a father is an influential male figure in one's life. Also, I would add a few more qualifiers as others mentioned because it might be hard to argue this for four pages.

  6. I agree with Diep about saying "male figure", you may say "role model" or "a figure that you look up to" instead of "positive male figure". I like your definition but I think it might be a tough one cuz it's not really debatable.

  7. Male caregivers aren't always a positive figure yet they're perceived as father's. You might want to reward your simple definition to "good fathers are positive male figures"...or something along the lines of that.

  8. I agree with the others. Is it still a father if he has passed? Just an argument to thing about. Good topic though!

  10. According to your argument, a husband or boyfriend could be considered a father...seems a little weird, but you should argue for it! Anticipate that argument.

  11. This is a great definition, its arguable and legitimate. Good job.

  12. I think your qualifiers and your definition work perfectly. Your definition is argumentative and you don’t use any words in the definition that have to be further explored. My only suggestion is to change the wording of “positive guide,” for this has somewhat and ambiguous meaning.

  13. Your qualifiers are great but a positive male role model cannot always be under the category of a father

  14. I like the definition and I think you have a really good topic to write on.

  15. I feel like that is the actual definition of a father, you might want to be more specific.

  16. Through your definition, a husband could be a father?

  17. can argue that because a father does or can not be positive you are in a good position to start your paper qualifiers are well backed up

  18. You could also put in what makes just a father and what makes a daddy in the child's life or something like that but you have a good argument here

  19. Good qualifiers-maybe emotional support could be a qualifier too?
