this is a really cool topic! does it not count as euthanasia if they person just wants an assisted suicide or something? also will your bring up the exact medication used to euthanize because i think thats where the name is derived from so it could be an interesting point to bring up!
This is a great topic! You might want to explain how euthanasia is the killing of another being--by means of what: injection, medication, ...? Also explain how it is administered, and under what circumstances. Just clarify this for your audience. I would elaborate on how it is peaceful, and why it is condsidered humane. Great job, though!
Great topic! So if someone needed another person to help them suicide, does that mean it is euthanasia? And also, like Anna said, what about animals? They cannot think or al least "understand" what we would do to them, does that mean euthanasia? Keep in mind these arguments.
You are certainly going to have to draw a line between Euthanasia and asisted suicide, unless you are meaning them to be the same thing. If you are trying to make them synonymous then your definition is great because people will argue that the person does not have consent. Otherwise I'm not sure that your definition is arguable.
For some reason I really like the sound of the word, I don't know why, but I think you have a good definition so far. For one of the qualifiers, the death sentence, would that be really considered as someone allowing to kill one self?? I mean there is the death penalty where people are killed without their consent. I don't think that would be looked as euthanasia??
Good, arguable simple definition! There is no mention of whether the person gives their consent to be euthenized based off of a want to commit suicide from mental anguish/ negative emotions, think about this, because I think it will be an important part of your paper.
Your definition of euthanasia is a great simple definition as well as being extremely argumentative. I just recommend one more qualifier for your argument for the factor of not always having the consent is a possibility.
This a good topic because it is very controversial, therefore bringing in sides from those who support or those who do not. So that could be another qualifier, those who do not believe it safe and effective?

ReplyDeleteYou should also think of maybe another qualifier to help make your essay longer.
ReplyDeletegreat word choice. you can add that it is a pain reliever as another qualifier since it is meant to put patents' out of their suffering at times.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kennyd93, I thought exactly that. Maybe you should add in facts about suicide as well.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good topic but what about animals? People Euthanize animals all the time but they cant give consent...

ReplyDeleteI might be wrong, but this may already be a legit definition.

ReplyDeleteSounds good man only thing I could recommend is another qualifier maybe to stop suffering.
ReplyDeletenot broad enough. what way of killing? nice topic though qualifiers could be created through better definition
ReplyDeleteVery good simple definition. Maybe find one more qualifier?
